I was taken into Princess of Wales on 26th May by ambulance and spent about 24 hours in the care of the nurses and staff of the A&E department who keep a large and busy department working first-class! My treatment was the best, my care respectful and professional and every member of staff ensured I was fed, cared for and informed. You all have a difficult job to do and sometimes not in the best of circumstances but I will always give you top marks. Wonderful people! Thank you so much.
I took myself to the A&E dept on the 31st of October and was in some considerable discomfort.I was in there within 10 minutes of arriving and was seen to immediately. All the staff were friendly and courteous and I eventually left 6 hours+ later. However my underlying problem is not resolved (Not the staff's fault) due to one thing and another.
My Son was taken to A&E on Sunday 18 Nov 2018 after a rugby injury with suspected neck injury. The paramedic, ambulance team and hospital staff were amazing on what was clearly a busy shift. I wish I had taken all their names so my husband, son and I could thank them all personally! They were all very caring and professional dealing with what was a very scary time. Thanks NHS, you’re the best. From the Kennedy family xx
Been to pow hospital Bridgend this evening my wife has a really bad chest infection and I have to say the treatment was second to none the nurse in charge was very easy to talk to and explained everything the doctors were very helpful and easy to talk too and explained everything. In this day and age people are so quick to criticise hospitals but I have to do this review and hope all the staff in a&e get to see it thanks from Kathy and David.
Sorry to say not to impressed with Princess of Wales. communication between Departments and staff terrible. Didn’t seem to matter how many times you give them information they would still repeatedly ask for the same information .Each member of staff give different information and explanations ( One day he was going for re-able meant then he wasn’t he was told he was going home Then he wasn’t )in the end we as a Family give up asking . After three months in hospital he was discharged without a home assessment, occupational therapist said he could walk so no need for an assessment, didn’t take account that surroundings were different to a single room that he had been Barrier nursed in for six weeks .He was medically fit and that was it off you go ! With no consideration of his confidence or anxieties .
My husband has just spent six days in the stroke unit and his words "was Treated like a king) everybody from the domestic staff right through to the Consultant were absolutely wonderful, the care and compassion is awesome. Given what they have to do it's a real vocation because they certainly don't do it for the money, thank you everyone, we are ve
ry grateful to you all, thank God for the NHS people don't realise how lucky they are.
Today (06-04-2018), I had my first ever anaesthetic and I was extremely nervous! But with the massive confidence boost from staff they made me feel 100% safe with the procedure. Both anaesthetists, the surgeon and theatre nurse made me feel safe at all time, and the recovery nurses were fantastic! Both anaesthetists, the surgeon and theatre nurse came into see me after I had come around in the recovery room and had a lovely chat with me to reassure me that the surgery went to plan! I cannot fault the staff at the eye theatre department, they were fantastic!!

Booked in to Acute Medical Unit with suspected Lung problem. Superb treatment in evaluation, explanation and courtesy of all staff involved. Doctor and Consultant really approachable and helpful regarding treatment and further medication. Really appreciated the time they gave and also appreciated the pressure staff were under.
Came to A&E on the 6 th of Jan 2018 I guessed it was Bells Palsy but they acted swiftly and efficiently to rule out a Stroke... staff nurse Samuel was very polite and attentive... we then was seen by Dr Dean Jones he was the same bear in mind The Department was extremely busy Staff didn’t stop also a infection outbreak was there in a sections off area... every member of staff we encountered smiled., helped where they could while dealing with so many patients... with so much bad press this Department are stretched but coped amazingly... thank you all so much and you do an awesome job
